There are a number of possible reasons for this, including: * Your answer may not have been unique, i.e., someone else may have given the same basic information in another answer. * Your answer didn't directly address the question. * Your message may have been offensive, illegal, or otherwise inappropriate. This is unlikely, but many nasty people do abuse this free service.

* Your answer may be incorrect.

* Your answer may have been based on opinion rather than fact. * It's also possible that someone has deleted the answer for no good reason, in which case you should be able to find the answer in the question history. If your question has been deleted for no reason, contact a supervisor to deal with the vandal. * Your reply might have been reviewed and seen as a "debate" in the question, and a "running debate" in an answer is something that WikiAnswers attempts to avoid.

* Some people feel that their answer is better than that of others, but they are actually not right. Some, as listed above, will do it for no reason whatsoever. However, supervisors, vandal patrols, and other great contributors may find plain nonsense in your answer, and erase it.

* Should you have a question about why someone took down your post you might wish to ask them or take it to a Supervisor, but be advised that most WikiAnswers contributors do not like to carry on a running debate or argument through Messages on their Message Boards. Tact and restraint are strongly suggested.
