The focus of art (traditional, persay) began to shift towards the end of the 1800s as the impressionists emerged. As the 1900s progressed, art became more abstract since the need to capture a detailed scene was not the job of an artist anymore as cameras advanced and became more popular. Therefore, contemporary works focus on concepts, and each time period of the 20th century has it's own movement - focusing on different ideas on how what is art, how to approach it, etc.

Additionally, the rise of social reform movements, such as the temperance movement and the fight for workers' rights, provided women with platforms to challenge traditional gender roles and address societal problems.

How did the 1900s airplanes work?

Airplanes in the 1900s worked the same way they do today. An engine produced power to move the aircraft forwards, allowing air to move across the lifting surfaces (wings). Because of the shape of the wings, a difference in pressure was created, with lower pressure on top of the wing and higher pressure below the wing. This is how lift was and is generated, allowing the plane to climb into the air.
