Not only the Coptic, but also the Armenian, Syrian, Ethiopian and a few others form a group called the Oriental Orthodox Churches.

They did not accept the Council of Chalcedon in AD 451 since it declared Christ to be "in two natures" (human and divine), rather than "from two natures".

The difference is merely semantical (although some Eastern Orthodox would disagree), a misunderstanding at the time, fuelled by political issues.

Efforts to unite the two strands of Orthodoxy are underway, but unlikely to succeed, given this may split the Eastern Orthodox (eg Greek, Russian) communion in two.

When was the first schism of the Christian church?

We do not know when the first schism in the Christian Church occurred. Even in the time of Saint Paul, he talks of opponents and those who taught a "different Christ". By the beginning of the second century, and probably earlier, Christianity was divided along two major lines: what is sometimes now called the proto-Catholic-Orthodox Church and the Gnostic Churches. Marcion made his break from Rome in the middle of the second century. The split of the Coptic Church from the Catholic-Orthodox Church occurred in 451 CE. The Great Schism of 1054 separated the Roman Catholic and Orthodox Churches. The Western Schism of the fourteenth century temporarily split the Catholic Church. The Protestant Reformation was the next major schism, in the sixteenth century.

Is the Roman Catholic a break away group from the original Catholic?

No, The Roman Catholic Church is the original Catholic Church. The Orthodox Church is not a "break-away" church. The only churches that broke away are the "Protestant" Churches. God be with you! If by 'original Catholic' you mean the original church founded by Jesus Christ and His Apostles, then most certainly yes, although there are some common beliefs.

What is the correct way to be baptize?

The right Baptism is the Baptism to the Orthodox Church . This is Because almost from the very beginning, Christians referred to the Church as the "One, Holy, Catholic (universal) and Apostolic Church". Today, in addition to the Orthodox Church, a number of other Christian churches lay claim to this title (including the Roman Catholic Church, the Anglican Communion, the Assyrian Church and the Oriental Orthodox Church); however, the Orthodox Church considers these other churches to be schismatic and, in some cases, heretical. In the Orthodox view, the Assyrians and Orientals left the Orthodox Church in the first few centuries after Christ, and later the Roman Catholics did the same, becoming the largest ever group to leave the Church. This event is known as the East-West Schism, and it is traditionally dated to the year 1054, although it was more of a gradual process than a sudden break.

Is Greek Orthodox part of the Catholic Church?

No, they are two separate Christian groups.Roman Catholic AnswerThey were up until the eleventh century when they broke away. Orthodox AnswerThe Eastern Orthodox Church is not part of the Roman Catholic Church and did not break away. The Orthodox Church was founded in 33 AD, and has existed for over 2,000 years without any changes to its dogmas, beliefs or traditions, and without any splits. Both Roman Catholics and Orthodox shared the same history for the first 1,000 years, until they separated in 1054 AD. There have been recent attempts (since the 1960s) to reconcile the differences between the two churches.

Is the Church of Christ a break off of the LDS?

There are numerous breakoffs of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Some of the more well known are the FLDS and RLDS churches. Some churches named the Church of Christ have also broken off of the LDS church, but the name is commonplace so not all of those churches are splits from the LDS church.
