June 25-26, 1832 was the time when the Battle of Velasco occurred. It happened because a Mexican commander named Domingo de Ugartechea tried to stop the Texians from transporting cannon to attack Anahuac City, where William B. Travis and other Texian separatists were being held.
After the initial battle, Ugartechea's men ran out of ammunition. The Mexican commander Juan Davis Bradburn was forced to release the prisoners and resign his position.
