Try checking any ground wire related to the alarm. On my 1997 Ranger XLT w/4L V6/5 speed auto/it was a intermitant hood switch. When the switch lost contact, the alarm system triggered as though the hood was opened. Try jumping the switch with a wire. Take care not to touch the body. If the problem goes away, then replace the switch. This took my dealer's service dept. 3 tries to find it. Hope this helps.
