Normal reason for this common problem is rubber vacuum pipe failure. Pipe is located behind frot wheels. Do not buy Kia replacement pipes as their replacement pipes are both too short and too expensive. They cost approx. £32 a pair and will fail again quite soon. Instead replace with 25" of heavy duty rubber vacuum pipe on both sides. It is an easy DIY job and took me under half an hour to do. Just set steering to full right hand lock to fit left hand side, then full left lock to do right hand side. Use a loose fitted cable tie to retain hose once fitted and, hey presto........ 4WD now works a treat.

Hope this helps someone as Maidstone Kia quoted me £175.01 to do this. I did it myself for under £10 !!
