I think that maybe it could be the teeth on the starter or which I hope it's not the teeth on the flywheel of the engine. I guess it could just be the starter which is a cheap fix compared to the flywheel and alot easier to fix !!!!
The wheel bearing?
some posibilities are Brake lining worn out(metal on metal), no oil in the differential, Gears could be sheared off...ect. very hard to dianose such a vague question. what kind of 95 gm van? venture, full size, cube? when does it make the grinding noise? if it does it when the brakes are applied then it's the first answer. Good luck!
a grinding sound usually means a broken teeth on either the flywheel or the starter pignion gear. your starter can also be loose.
The differintial is starting to wear...
It is broken.
The ticking noise is the metal cooling.
Sounds like your battery needs replacing.
It sounds a lot like you have a brake problem. You need to get it checked out before any more serious damage is done, and it costs you a fortune.
the clutches in torque converter
It depends on the noise. If it is a squealing noise it is probably a loose belt and needs to be replaced. Check the back of the belt if it is "glazed" meaning slippery and shiny then replace the belt.
It is likely to be the power steering pump complaining that the power steering fluid is low.
jack up van with wheel in question off the ground try to move it side to side it should not move also spin the wheel and listen for a grinding noise you may need a stethascope to do this step
