In my opinion, meritocracy is better than aristocracy because it gives less fortunate people a better chance to get a good job. For example, it's better to have smart and hardworking, yet poor employees who is willing to do any job the get a little extra moneys. Rather than a spoiled rich person who doesn't work or even need the money anyway. Honestly, I don't think aristocracy is a good idea at all. It just isn't fair to people who really deserve it.
