I had a tubal ligation in 1999. And my periods stay regular. So if you haven't got your period. I would call my Doctor and have myself checked. Because with my experience that isn't normal. Your periods are controlled by your ovaries secreting hormones directly into your bloodstream, nothing to do with your tubes. So your periods should remain absolutely normal.
well I had my second son 1 yr ago and I got my tubes tied after my son was born during a c-section. It is March 2,2006 and my period is two weeks late. I am a person that has had regular periods and I was not on Birth Control. I am having signs of pregnancy but I am not sure. I am hundred percent sure that if your period is late after getting your tubes that it can mean you are pregnant or there is something going on with your body. I am going to give it a couple more days and find out and see. If anybody else can help with some answers that would be great.
A tubal ligation affects only the ability for your eggs to travel to the uterus and does not allow them to be fertilized or implanted. Your uterus still builds up the stores of mucus and blood that it always has readying your body for pregnancy. Therefore it must shed as it always has.
Periods can stop for various reasons:
These are only a few things off the top of my head. You should probably call your practitioner.
If a woman gets her tubes tied (tubal ligation) she will not be able to get pregnant, but she will still menstruate (have her period). In a tubal ligation the fallopian tubes that carry the egg from the ovary to the uterus are cut (and closed), but the ovaries themselves aren't removed. Since the ovaries are still producing hormones, the walls of the uterus will continue to cycle through its changes, and a period will occur.
There are any number of things that cause a woman to have a late or missed period. Lack of sleep, illness, dieting, exercise, hormones, age, stress.
Very, very rarely the tubes will "reattach" and the woman becomes pregnant. If you miss 2 cycles in a row, you should get a pregnancy test. Women who have become pregnant after a tubal ligation or other ovarian surgery are more likely to have an ectopic pregnancy and need to be closely monitored in early pregnancy. (again, very seldom happens)
If your period stops, prior to age related hormonal changes, you need to find out why. Thyroid imbalance is one of many things that causes a woman to stop menstruating.
Not likely, maybe hormonal changes. If you are pregnant you have a good law suit.
No. Your period is hormone based and the tubal ligation is just preventing the meeting of egg and sperm. You still ovulate each month which is triggered by hormones.

can you take clomid while your tubes tied
I wouldn't worry just yet, did you have it done during/after labour? if so, and you've got a small baby and breastfeeding it will be that that is causing weird cycles. Some women have their tubes tied then find out they were infact pregnant BEFORE the tubes were tied (which is just majorly bad luck!) and sometimes tubals can go wrong and not be put on properly (bad surgeon) Having your tubes tied doesnt necessarily interfere with your cycles. but it can cause stress which can make your period late. women who havent had tubals often skip periods or have late periods with no good reason your only safe bet is to take a pregnancy test. and if its positive contact yoru doctor to make sure its not eptopic (in the tube) goodluck!
Tubes clipped - Fallopian tubes are clipped and it is reversible. Tubes cauterized (burned) - Tubes are burned (not reversible). Tubes tied - Doctors don't do this procedure that often, but it is what it is, your fallopian tubes are tied. (reversible but with difficulty and lower success rate)
Missed period tubes are tied
i have had my tubes tied for five years and i have never missed my period and it has never been late i had a mri done last year and it showed that i had a cyst is it possible that my period this month was brown and only lasted for two days because of the tubes being tied or because of the cyst or could i be pregnent?

A woman's period is tied to the growth of lining in the womb, which is controlled by hormones produced by the ovaries. Even though the egg cannot reach the womb after the tubes are tied, the hormones controlling the cycle are still produced, so the cycle should still be regular.
Your period should not be delayed more than a few days, but it is not unheard of either. You should be examined by your doctor, just in case though.
i am fix but can it still happen
cuz u touch yourself at night...........
You will still menstruate when you have your tubes tied because your menstrual cycle is still working as it would normally and your uterus is still present. You may experience some irregular bleeding if you're close to menopause or for a few days after your tubes are tied as a result of surgery. If irregular bleeding continues then you need to go talk to your doctor to find out why this is happening.

Take a home pregnancy test.
