have a basmentless home. had tile put in kitchen and dining room. floor always appears damp and slippery. could there be a crack in the base of concrete causing tile to be damp. it is dangerous to even walk on. cannot aford to put rugs in. liz
Using a good sealer on a tile floor will protect the tiles as well as help make the floor easier to clean. Sealers are easy to apply with a mop to a dry, clean floor.

Yes a vacuum works very well on tile floors, just set it on the floor setting. I always vacuum my tile floors before I wash or mop them. The vacuum picks up the loose dirt and and hair from the floor, and it makes it much easier to mop and clean.
