I even had a cat that used to babysit for the new babies when his mum was having a pee/food break from her 3rd litter. He thought it was fabulous and purred contentedly, the babies weren't too confused and mum had some quiet time away from them. In any case, I had 2 boys and I'd loved to have been able to hiss & spit at them and chase them away when they got old enough to look after themselves. In fact, I tried and they STILL came back home...!
