It could be one of 4 reasons. There could be more but lets stick the basics.
ONE: You aren't eating properly. You could either be eating too much sugar, carbs and fat together, (Eating fat/ carbs with a lot of fat will make it store) or you could not be eating enough vegetables, protein, and fruits. You need to have enough minerals and protein to maintain a healthy body.
TWO: You could not be exercising enough. Your body needs a high metabolism to burn fat at a healthy rate. Your metabolism is how much calories your body burns. The way your body burns calories is it has fat burning enzymes. If you do aerobics and or light exercise you will be burning fat. Fat burning enzymes are very lazy and if you do aerobic exercises often they will make more, eventually raising your metabolism to a healthy place. However if you are exercising anaerobically your body will switch to your sugar burning enzymes and you will no longer be burning fat. One easy way to tell if you have switched to sugar burning instead of fat burning is when you "feel the burn." When your body burns sugar it makes lactic acid and that will create that sensation of burning in your muscles. One exercise that is NEVER aerobic is Weightlifting. Weightlifting can be anything from push ups, to barbells, sit-ups, etc. I am not saying that weightlifting is a bad thing though. Weightlifting can make your muscles stronger so therefor you can do more aerobics for longer. :]
THREE: You aren't getting enough sleep. If you aren't getting enough sleep you will gain weight. There are many reasons but one of the main reasons is if you are tired you will be lazier, not as active, and as a result will not get enough exercise.
FOUR: You aren't happy. If you are always sad your body will also become lazy and you will not exercise enough, causing your metabolism lower. Also sometimes if someone is not happy they are more likely to eat more to help them be happy.
If it is none of these reasons it could be more complicated, and you should probably see a doctor or a dietitian.

It depends on how tall you are. If you're under 6 feet tall, that might be overweight,but if you're over 6ft tall,that's and ok weight

It is not bad to be overweight, because you might be overweight due to the amount of muscle, or other body tissues, including fat. But it is bad to be overFAT, because obesity is not a good lifestyle choice. So if you are fit, but overweight, it's good. But is you lead a sedentary life, then you should be careful.
That is a broad generalization and borderline sexist. Not all overweight women have low-self esteem. Some overweight women might have more self esteem than certain "fit" women, or overweight men, or skinny men, you name it. Self esteem is not linked to body size it is dependent of numerous circumstances. While every person will have there own reasons for low self esteem, an overweight woman might have feelings of dislike of their body size causing a lack of confidence

Being overweight, however, does increase your risk, and when you are overweight, you tend to have larger breasts. So, if your breasts are larger because you are 20% more overweight than your ideal weight, it might be a good idea to shed a few pounds.

If it would not create an awkward situation, yes. Being overweight isn't as much of a disadvantage as you might think. Some men prefer it.
