I think Britain should be proud that they have it, but not of the way they got it. Britain suppressed American colonists for years, taxing them into oblivion with no real representation in Parliament, before we won our independence and soon beat them in the race for the top world power. Britain has conquered and taken control of lots of places and used them for resources, like the colonies, which I guess is something to be proud of.
