It appears yellow because it is not that hot. Blue-White is the hottest. hottest to the suns hot:

Blue-White=hottest

Blue=2nd hottest

Yellow=3rd hottest

trust me my science teacher is awesome.

It's "yellow" because it's cooler than a type A star, which is the standard for "white" astronomically speaking.
