On stereos there are two power connections. One that supplies power from the battery and one that supplies it from the ACC position on the key. To not have this happen you can remove the power cable from the acc position and put it on the same connection as the battery power, still going through the fuses. Now when ever you turn on the stereo with the key off the stereo will stay on. One note of warning tho. I have had to jump several cars with dead batteries from this type of setup. So if you walk away from the car remember to turn it off. Another solution is to put a switch in the dash that can be used to turn on power for those times you want it. Just hook the switch up in parallel with the acc power input so when no key is in the acc power will get power from the battery. Then turn it off when you are done. It wont hurt anything if you leave it on and then turn the key on. But if its off and the key is off you also wont run down the battery.
My 1965 MGB will not turn off when turn the key to off .
Are you stopped or are you driving down the road? Not all cars are identical in what they will do but you have a chance of the steering wheel locking if you turn the key completely off. If you simply turn the key to the accessory position which will cut the power to the motor you will still have steering control but it will be difficult. If you are sitting still when you do this nothing will happen simply place the car in park.
If its right after you turn off the key it might be a power antenna motor.
On most autos when you turn the ignition off you also turn the power to the power outlets off. Turn the key back on and restart the player.
The Anti theft feature in cars sometimes goes off by mistake. Some ways to get it to turn off are to clean the key, turn the steering wheel as far over as possible and turn the key, make sure the car is in park, or to disconnect the battery for sometime.
try taking out your key and opening a door... Check the ignition switch to make sure iot is cutting off power when the key is turned off.
there is no key to turn it off
That's just how the car is. My old 2005 GMC Sierra would do the same thing. I would turn the key off, and the radio would stay on, you just have to open the door to turn everything off, correct?
That means you need to check the head lights. Suprisingly enough head lights on cars cause most problems. Especially on Fords.
The turn off key located below the front fender is used to cut off the power running from the stator to the bike, so when you pull it out the bike will not run. you can take the key out so no one can start it.
if it does then if your talking about a car your ingine battery or carboreater is bad
