The 1995 Ford Aspire would have a rough idle cut off of power at high speeds due to mis firing. There is also a rev limiter to control how fast you can go.
The Acer Aspire One comes with either Linux or Windows, but not both. If the machine boots into Windows when you power it up, you don't have Linpus. If you did, it would boot straight into it, and you would likely not be asking the question.
