Turn the steering wheel left then right and the key should come out.
check fuel pump or ignition system
if you were getting oil on your plugs it would smoke something cronic, try looking more into your ignition system if its starting problems if it has a distributor have a look at your points under the cap, if it is Electonic ignition have a look at your crank angle sensor or cam angle sensor.
Check the ignition fuse also check the ignition switch
ignition switch or key and tumbler.

Personally, I would not buy a used Kia Optima because of the number of recalls that have been associated with this car. The Kia company has recalled the Kia Optima for many different safety measures that are faulty in the vehicle.
lose ignition wires... a bad (cracked or broken) dist. cap. A poorly engineered wiring setup. or a lose plug on the ignition module
it would have trouble getting enough food & getting wastes out of the cell,
Have you checked the ignition switch on the column . I had to replace the one in my 1977 Trans Am.
