you might want to check into how much lime and calcium is in your water, also there are airborne particles that will settle onto the water.

What do you call a material deposited on a filter?

I would call it a sediment.

What would a bad fuel filter cause huskee mower to stall not restart right away but restart after sitting a few hours?

When it's running, the sediment in the fuel gets stirred up & blocks the filter, causing it to stall. When it sits for a couple hours, the sediment settles back on the bottom, opening up passageways thru the filter. It's just not 'sticking' to the filter. Either clean the tank & line, or remove the filter and run the garbage thru your engine, then install a new filter.

Which of these could you find in the benthic zone of a lake plankton turtles sediment or plants?

You would fine sediment in the benthic zone, or bottom, of a lake.

How you would decant water from a mixture of sand and water?

Well when you decant the water through the filter, it will filter the water and leave the sediment behind for you to see on the filter. not sure

What causes dirt in well water?

It comes from the ground, what do you expect. If the dirt is significant you may need a sediment or sand filter. I would definitely take a sample for analysis if you are drinking it.It comes from the ground, what do you expect. If the dirt is significant you may need a sediment or sand filter. Where would you expect to find the oldest sediment?

When sediment settles, at the bottom of a lake for example, more sediment will fall later on and the cycle will continue, making the sediment that fell first the oldest. So, after all of that science stuff, we can say that the father down you go, the older it is.

Is orange juice is homogeneous?

Orange Juice might be considered homogenous in that it doesn't naturally separate when extracted from the fruit. If it isn't filtered there will be pulp which will rise to the surface, and whether filtered or not there will always be a little sediment which is heavier than the water content and so sinks to the bottom of the container; this is why we always shake fruit juices before pouring, but there is no drastic separation. The longer juice is stored, the more sediment will filter to the bottom and this can be an indicator of how fresh the juice is. Juice can be homogenised during processing to keep the sediment suspended. Cold pressurisation leaves little or no sediment.

Where would you expect to find the oldest sedimentary?

Main locations of sedimentary rock is at the bottom of a water source such as an ocean. As rivers flow to the sea, they may carry mud, sand, pebbles, and boulders along the way. The river drops this material, called sediment, into the sea. As layers of sediment build up over a period of many years, the great pressure of all these layers changes the sediment into sedimentary rock. Therefor you might be able to find sedimentary rock at the bottom of the ocean or a lake or river.

What is The matter that settles to the bottom of a liquid?

The layer that would settle at the bottom of a bottle would be the one with the biggest density. For example, if you would have a mixture of water and an ether, the ether would be on top because it has the smallest density.

What would cause a 1995 Mystique's engine to routinely shutdown while driving but restart and drive for 2 or 3 miles without a problem but then do it again?

It could be an electronic component that is failing when it warms up, or it could be a partially blocked fuel filter and sediment blocks it but when the fuel pump goes off the sediment drops and the engine runs until the sediment gets stirred up enough to block the filter again. Bottom line, replace the fuel filter first, then see if it still acts up. If it does, start trying to find out which component is failing when it gets hot. Sorry that I can't be more specific, but that's the kind of problem that can end up being difficult to find.

What causes sediment in water from well?

When the water is pumped into the holding tank, it contains fine particles of sediment that are not yet filtered out as they would be in a city water system. By the time the well water is delivered, most of the particles have settled into the bottom of the tank.
