Good Question!!! It depends on which side you are Jewish on.

If you are Jewish on your dad's side than sorry, you have to convert to Judaism but it is NOT EASY!!

If it is on your mom's side you might as well call yourself a FULL JEW!! It only matters if you are on your mom's side.

On the other hand if you are from your mom's side then We have some work to do

A young girl has many things she has to learn before her coming of age

She has to Learn Hebrew, Read Torah, Read different Blessings, etc. She starts training when she is 10-11 and then learns till she is 13 (the age)

Can you have your bat or bar mitzvah at any age?

Yes! There are a number of reasons for having an adult Bar Mitzvah - you may not have celebrated it when you were a child, you may have converted in later years, or you may have experienced a spiritual awakening, and you want to mark your commitment to the Jewish people again - as a mature adult. You can have a bar/bat mitzvah at any age, although there is a custom to have a second bar mitzvah at age 73.

What do you wear to a Bar Mitzvah if you're not Jewish?

Wear something dressy and respectful, especially if it takes place in a synagogue. Women might want to opt for a skirt or dress rather than pants if the celebrants are Orthodox Jews. Men might feel more comfortable with their heads covered with a kippah, although this is not necessary in Reform synagogues.

What is expected of you for your bar mitzvah?

A Jewish boy automatically becomes a Bar Mitzvah on his 13th birthday. It simply means "son of the commandments". In order to have a bar mitzvah ceremony at synagogue, one is required to have attended Hebrew School. Some will ensure that you have a certain amount of knowledge in regards to reading the Torah and Haftorah, being able to chant the appropriate blessings (and sometimes lead the Saturday service), an understanding of Talmud and Jewish history, etc. It really depends on the synagogue in which you want it to take place and the traditions they follow.

How can I get in touch with my Judaism?

Additional Details: I am in high school My Mom is christian, dad is Jewish, so i wasn't allowed to get a bar mitzvah. U need a Jewish mom to do that, for some reason. I celebrate the holidays, but not the sabbath/shamas. My dad, whos jewish, pretty much only celebrates the holidays, so he isn't helpful I really want to eveantually formally convert to Judaism, but right now I just want to be more involved. I don't have a synagogue nearby my house. What can i do to start becoming a part of the culture, tradition, and religion?

How would you organize a bar mitzvah?

Start off by getting yourself a folder to keep all the information you will be collecting. Then speak to your local synagogue or temple about dates, book a date, then speak to location halls. Think about what type of Bar Mitzvah you want to have, and think about how you want to grow from the Bar Mitzvah process. Speak to your friends about what Bar Mitzvah teacher they used and what vendors they have used.

How much for bat mitzvah montage?

What does the bar mitzvah boy do before his ceremony?

He often gets called up to read from the Torah in front of the synagogue congregation. Really, though, becoming Bar Mitzvah happens regardless of what one does. It simply means becoming an adult and becoming responsible for one's actions. A Jewish boy becomes Bar Mitzvah when he turns 13.

How much do boys read of the Torah when it's their bar mitzvah?

however much they want! they don't even have to read, they don't even have to celebrate! when a boy turns 13 on his Hebrew birthday he is automatically considered a member of the Jewish comunity and can be held reaspondsable for his actions in the eyes of the community and the eyes of HaShem

What are the differences between a bat mitzvah and a bar mitzvah?

The phrase "bat mitzvah" means "daughter of a commandment" while the phrase "bar mitzvah" means "son of a commandment." So one marks a girl's becoming a young woman, while the other marks a boy becoming a young man. These terms are not really names of ritual events, they are names for the change of status when a child, who was the moral responsibility of their parents, becomes responsible for their own behavior, in the eyes of the Jewish tradition. Of course, it is traditional to celebrate the change of status by allowing the new adult to perform an adult responsibility, and then celebrate that. You did want more than one difference, so note that traditionally, men were bar mitzvah, that is, personally responsible at age 13, while girls were bat mitzvah at age 12. Also, traditionally, the adult responsibility a young man is asked to perform to celebrate his bar mitzvah is to be counted in a minyan (the quorum needed for public prayer) and to be called up to the Torah. Before egalitarianism took hold in the liberal branches of Judaism, women were not allowed to do this.
