Burning excessive fuel? Simple - you have a lead foot AND are not using cruise control. It's smoking? Simple - your vehicle is on fire, you gave it a cigarette, or you have the engine running.
My point? When you ask a question, you need to be as detailed as possible and not be soo vague. Excessive fuel consumption could be because of lead foot or lack of cruise control use, OR because you need a tuneup: fuel injectors cleaned, spark plugs replaced, clean air filter and so forth.
It's smoking? What EXACTLY is smoking? Do you have a fire? Or the tail pipe seems to be smoking more than normal? Excessive oil consumption with oil being burned off... water in your exhaust.. Use ISOHeat which helps eliminate moisture in exhaust.
Your problem? Your vehicle needs an oil change and tuneup AND a mechanic needs to really look your vehicle over and you may just get by cheap with a simple tuneup.
