On automatic transmissions there should be an override button near the shifter. You have to take a pen or something long and skinny and put it down into the hole to push it but then it should work fine until you put the shifter in park again. I don't know about newer ones but this is how it worked on my 1997 accent.
the gears prob fell out you need tranny work done
I had this problem, I had a faulty TPS sensor
On the transmission you will see electrical wiring connected to it.
if it's an automatic you can replace it with any accent automatic transmission from 1995 to 1999, you will have to change the neutral safety switch on the transmission on some trans. cheers!!!!!
The transmission is messed up, try playing between neutral/reverse and drive, my old Hyundai excel did that and the transmission did a weird sound then went back OK, but not for long. Recommended to change it.
If it has a manual transmission, you simply put it into neutral. If it has an automatic transmission, you would need to remove the driveshaft during towing.
Park. Reverse, Neutral, Drive, 2nd gear, and load These are the gears in your transmission.
If it is in manual transmission, it only means that it is in neutral or you have some problems with your transmission. If you are in automatic, if it is not in neutral or park mode, then you would need to change your transmission oil. Cars with old or empty transmission oil needs time before they could shift your car, prevent this by regularly checking your transmission oil to avoid future problems. I should say future expensive problems.
time to get new trannie
That is the electrical switch that is bolted to the driver's side of the transmission where your shift cable hooks to it.
Slide in under the drivers side of the transmission and look up at the side of it and you will see a electrical switch mounted on the side of the transmission behind the shifter cable. That would be it.
It is located on the side of transmission where the shift linkage is. Remove the bolts holding it in and the two electrical connections.
