If your dog's belly has suddenly become swollen, you need to head to the veterinarian immediately - I would suspect gastric bloat or intestinal obstruction, both of which are surgical emergencies that can be fatal within 24 hours.

∙ 15y agoThere are several causes for this, depending on the dog's age, gender, neutered (?), history, breed, etc. The best way to determine what is causing the swollen belly, and determine the appropriate treatment (if any) is to take your dog to the Vet.

∙ 12y agoIf its a girl she maybe pregnant. They may also have colic which is when the intestines flip and or become knotted they need immediate medical attention. Or your dog may have eaten to much to fast and be bloated
