I would say that if your dog is not acting "normal" then he is still sick. He may not be vomiting or having loose stools or a fever or exhibiting other obvious signs of illness, but lethargy, disinterest in food or or play and oversleeping may also indicate that he isn't completely over his ailment. If he isn't back to his old self in a week after he "got done being sick," I'd take him to the vet. He may need a new diet, more exercise, or supplements.
