Shut off the Jeep .Then see if you can move the shifter.Alot of the time if there is a clutch system problem that is a good way to tell. Then start by checking the linkage. The fluid levels in the system. If it has a master cylinder it is right near the the brake master cylinder .It takes brake fluid also. Then start checking for leaks of the brake fluid .A new clutch system (I recommand doing it all in one shot if you have to take it apart ) which includes the master cylinder, slave cylinder ,pilot bearing , clutch plate ,and the pressure plate for about 400.00$ .YOu will thank me later. The masters seem to go first but if you replace everything else and not that .Brake fluid on pant leg( need I say more).Good Luck!
