I believe there are laws on the books which would in ordinary circumstances prohibit certain types of handicapped people -certainly total blindness and/or deaf-blindness would be in this category from various types of legal contracts (If you can:"t see it, you can"t read it...) and certainly this would include marriage. a Marriage contracted between a Blind woman and say a normally sighted man would be laying the doors wide open to abuse- a sort of Svengali or allegedly benevolent Big Daddy type who could easily take advantage of his Blind mistress. There are laws against, or attempting to regulate such activities.. I was not aware of any romantic interests regarding Miss Keller.
