The record for the longest time water skiing continuously is 26 hours and 24 minutes, achieved by David W. Wathen in 1986.
In ships or ferries, the person who steers is called a helmsman. In relatively small boats, the person that steers the boat is called a skipper.

The object of swimming is to swim a chosen race faster than all other contestants in your category.
Swimmers are put in to 'heats' to race a chosen distance and stroke and are timed. The swimmer with the fastest completion time wins. Many competitive swimmers train constantly to became faster and gain effective techniques.
For freestyle, it means that you are clear to go on the feature.
Do you mean just slalom or all 3 events (slalom, trick, and jump). You can find the rules for all 3 events here http://www.usawaterski.org/pages/divisions/3event/2009AWSARuleBook.pdf In general, slalom is scored in points. It works a lot like track and field high jump in that you can select your starting point and if you make it you get credit for all the previous passes even though you didn't complete them, so you want to make sure the speed and line length you select to start you can complete. You will usually start out at 15 feet of a 75 foot rope at a given speed. Once you make it at that speed the boat will increase in speed until you hit the maximum (36 MPH for pros). Once you complete that the line length gets shorter. When you see something like "ran 28 off @ 36" that means you completed a pass at 36 MPH with 28 feet off of the rope. Completing a pass consists of entering the course through two buoys (called a gate). rounding 6 buoys (3 on each side of the boat). a point is awared for each buoy. 1/2 points are given by judges depending on where you drop after rounding a buoy if you don't complete the pass. You also must exit the course by passing through two buoys just like at the beginning.
In New Mexico, whenever a person on water skis or other towable water device has fallen down or is waiting to be picked up, a person aboard the towing vessel must display orange or red "skier down" flag
You can take them with you on a boat but not jet skiing. Even when going slow tubing is hard for small children.
The best way to get up on two skis is just to sit back in the water and let the boat pull you up. First what you do is you get in the water, then with your skies already adjusted to the right size put them on while floating. Once you have them on have them vertical in the water and put the rope inbetween the skie. When the rope is tight the boat will accelerate and just let it pull you up. Do not get up too early. If you do, the boat will not have enough speed and you will fall forward. Don't look down, always be looking just above the boat.
In addition to the operator, a competent observer must be in the boat in a position to observe the progress of the person being towed. A competent observer is a person who has the ability to assess when a skier is in trouble, knows and understands the water-skiing hand signals and is capable of helping a skier.
Sit down!! The recoil from the shotgun is likely to have you in the water, rifle and all.
Swimming has the benefit of exercising both upper and lower body at the same time. It also helps build stamina and circulation.
Swimming is the only sport that utilizes every muscle group in the body. It increases coordination, breathing skills, and endurance. Firstly, it improves the size of your lungs making you fitter. Secondly it improves muscle Hypertrophy; Muscle expansion. Thirdly, it's a good way of relieving stress. Finally, it helps to prevent diseases and infections.
You can try to swim, if you stay calm you will float or you can try to grab onto something that floats. If someone tries to rescue you then don't grab them unless they say so, and don't grab their head.
Yes. Water sports in Australia are particularly popular. Australia has an ideal climate for people to enjoy being out in the water, whether swimming, boating, water-skiing, surfing, windsurfing, etc.
Wetsuits are suppose to keep you warm in the ocean or cold water. They keep you warm by creating a thin layer of water between your skin and the wet suit. Your body heat warms up this thin layer of water keeping you warm.

The rope does not need to be any determined length. Just no that the longer the rope the harder and farther you can cut outside the wake which then allows you to cut hard back at the wake and get lots of air. A shorter rope will give you much more control though.
A slashing hand motion over the neck by a water skiier means cut the mower, or turn it off
That really depends on the size of the boat. If it's fairly small you probably can.
For you'll need your skis. To get a good pair you'll spend probably close to 120 dollars. You'll also need a tow rope. These cost about 15 dollars and can be purchased at sporting goods stores. If you don't already have a boat you'll need to rent one the lakes marina. All prices for boats are different so it all depends. If you already have a boat you're good to go.
2 Boots, 2 Skis, 2 poles (Optional)=When you first start learning to ski, you are shown how to do a Snowplough. - This is where you lean your feet towards each other so the skis are in a triangle shape==/ \ - like this!==As you advance, you should get the hang of parallel skiing which is what is done when you see the professionals do it!==Hope This Helps! I've been skiing twice and it's been really fun! - Really aches your legs at first though.=
