if there are no barrel markings......how do you know it's a colt ??
Yes, it will fit, but the barrel will not go all the way to the bottom of the holster. Depending on the holster, it may or may not make a difference.
American Gun CO. double barrel 271026
Interesting, the receiver was made after 1930 and the barrel 1922. Doubtful if the barrel is original.
value depends on overall condition................pictures help
Was it made for the Colt? Is it someone's old flap holster for a Colt 1917, and your Colt wound up inside? What's the condition of the holster? Too many questions to be answered.
Used to keep the parts identified for assembley. For gun collectors, it means that all of the parts that were originally assembled on the gun are still on the gun. A mismatched serial number means that the part with the non-matching number has been replaced, and may not fit correctly. Guns with matching numbers are more valuable to collectors.
Sounds like you may have a 450.00 to 600.00 piece.
50-100 dollars.
Hold the gun with the barrel pointed in the air and with your finger off of the trigger. It is best to hold it in a holster.
A "K" framed Smith & Wesson, such as the Model 10, Model 65, etc, with a 4 inch barrel.
