Standing in front of the car, looking at the distributor like a clock, between 3, and 5 oclock position.
It will not work, but it will likely bolt in. The 4.3 is a very close relative of the small block V8
wire that as number one or pull dist. and fix.
On the dist., cap, where the wires go in, there is a tab labeled TACH.
Point it at #1 cylinder.
if its not an electric dist. than theres a metal "door" on the side of your dist. the point above it is the first point.
if it is an 350 eng it is located at the rear of the intake manifold,on the top of the block, next to the dist.
It's in the dist. The dist. itself is the cam sensor.
drivers side behind the block at the firewall and to the side of the dist. or at the oil filter just in front of it.
the cap doesn't have a #1 mark on it.
there are no marks on th dist and intake th easist way is to be sure the engine is on tdc align th rotor button toward no 5 cyl and drop dist in block and wire accordingly

i believe it's on the rear of the block, to the right of the dist. behind the back edge of the intake manifold. it's almost against the firewall.
