1979 c-10 pickup long bed pickup you dont really have a LOT of money and you were wondering should you stick with the 305 2bbl and build that up or get a 350 and work with that?

Go with a 350. You can find fresh rebuilds for about $1200-$1500...or a 454 for about $1600. You probably don't intend to keep it stock though...so maybe boring over the block, oversized pistons, valve job, and cams are the way to go for that one...it all depends on whether you want reliability, power, price. Pick 2.
