The Future? Typically, an era obtains it's name once it has passed. It is a reflective label that is given to help sumarize a time in history when certain events occured. We can certainly present a name for an upcoming timeframe, but some unforeseen event or 'society path' may occur that will overshadow any predefined label that has been applied. As an example, almost no one could have known the depth of impact the internet would have on life today... or even the 9/11 attacks... or even this latest surge in fuel pricing. Possibly (and getting closer to answering your question), this 2011-2020 timeframe 'could' be referred to as the "Teens", but even today we do not call 1911-1920 'the Teens'.
