heater?AC fan does not go on? Temperature gage does not work.
The spring goes towards the engine.
If the engine reaches operating temperature on the gauge, then your stat is working properly. If there is no gauge, take your hand and place it on the two hoses that go into the passenger compartment thru the firewall. Both of these heater hoses should be HOT to the touch. If both hoses are cold, replace your stat.( Follow the top radiator hose down to the water outlet; this is where your stat is). If one hose is hot, and the other is much cooler, this indicates a plugged heater core which needs flushing or possibly replacement. I you. Mark
According to Advanced Auto Parts the Thermostat is located on the lower radiator hose at the engine. Thanks, Kit
Open the radiator cap, rev the engine and at the same time check to see if the radiator is flowing. if so, thermostat is probably stuck open. I'm having the same problem. I boiled the thermostat and it worked as it should at the proper temps. Could the water pump impeller be loose from the shaft? My car doesn't run hot, but I just bought it and have only ran the engine at temps below freezing. Could an air intake door to the heater be stuck open? Thanks.
The heater core is plugged. Blow it out with a compressor. If that does not work replace the heater core.
How do you change the heater core on a 1978 Chevy Nova Custom with a 305 v8 engine and where is it located on the car? thanks jj
If your engine warms up, but you don't get heat from your heater, check your coolant level, if it's low, this would be one explanation
It is located on the lower part of the engine and requires a special tool, $50, to remove the hose clamps unless they have been changed already from the OEM clamps. You will need a lift to accomplish the job and several hours. Good luck. It is on the engine at the upper radiator hose. When reinstalling the thermostat make sure the spring is towards the engine. I didn't find it there According to Advanced Auto Parts the Thermostat is located on the lower radiator hose at the engine on a 1998 2.7L Intrepid. Thanks, Kit
fallow your top rad hose were it meets on the top of the engine it under the housing were the rad hose clamps to drive safe
how do you heater control for renault laguna 1999 thanks
It comes op the firewall right in front of the passenger. It is a steel line, once it clears the firewall it turns to a rubber fuel line via a hose clamp.
You can unplug the blower motor and run a jumper wire to test the blower motor. If it is grounded through the plug you'll have to run a ground wire to it also. Blower Motor tested good. The Problem was the Blower Motor Controller which was located on the firewall just below the Heater Hoses. Thanks for responses to question.
