just your rpm is working? Ifwww.mrwhizard.com fixed my cluster in 2003 been fine since. I had to remove it and send it in. Very easy
I had mine fixed by mrwizzard.com I had to remove it and send it in. cost was about 100 dollars in 2003 for 1991 trofeo dash cluster.
Trofeo Baracchi ended in 1991.
Trofeo Luigi Berlusconi was created in 1991.
My friend bought a 1991 Trofeo with a dead guage cluster. After some Google research he just changed out a capacitor on his gauge cluster (IPC) and it made it work again. The odometer then showed "Error" so he changed the BCM (Body Control Module) and it then read 149356 which could be the mileage of the replacement BCM. We aren't sure what the real mileage is so I can't say if 149356 is correct but at least it is not reading error anymore. The BCM from a junkyard was $70.
your car key has a chip in it and in the ignition switch there is two connectors that run to a theft safety component. if your key as bent or there is a short it will not complete the circuit and it dose not allow the car to stat.
Look by water pump. It has 2 covered wires and is to the left of water pump, My have to wash motor a little if grease on it but it IS there. Close the pulley half way down the block held on by 1 bolt I believe it is 10mm
There is'nt one on the guage cluster but there is on the motor up by the thermostat housing
most likely behind the dash on the right side below the ashtray. I know this because I have an 89 couldn't find the flasher fuse had to brake a part of the plastic to get to it unless you want to dismantel the entire dash. Good luck Actually the flashers on a 91 Toronado are on the driver side and can be reached by taking off the panel below the dash and the flashers will be near the steering colum on the right side of the colum.
Apropos Cluster was created in 1991.
There seems to be two parts to the water pump and the fan is what usually goes first. Olds. was smart enough to just male that part to replace only. I was replacing the alternator on my 91 and decided to replace the water pump part I was speaking of. It's cheap and easy to get to. Hope this helps in some way.
A junkyard may be a decent place to start, however finding one in your area that actually has a Toronado may be difficult due to the rareness of the car. Dealerships don't carry many parts for them anymore, almost everything is special order if it isn't already discontinued. Another thing you could try is to look online for a parts car or someone who has one to part out, it depends on how far you are willing to travel or if you are willing to have them shipped. That would probably be your best bet. What parts do you need?
They get about 16 city mpg, 24 on the highway, averaging out to 19 mpg.
