check your ground
In the Power Box next to battery.
Yes, it is in the PDB next to the battery.
Maybe you have a problem in your main wiring harness. No fun.. Could also be an electrical sensor.
That wire is from the starter relay and is responsible for engaging the starter when you turn the key. It connects to the starter solenoid before you put the positive lead back on the starter.
Ford's fusible links are usually connected to the battery side of the starter solenoid.
Engine seized? Weak battery? Loose or corroded battery cables? Bad starter? Bad starter solenoid? Bad neutral safety switch?
I think you are on the right track. The starter relay is near the battery connected by the short positive cable. Before long it will not start at all, shade or sun. Theses relays or solenoids have a reputation for failure. Also MAKE SURE the grounds are good on this vehicle. Usually on the inner fender--follow the + battery cable should connect to relay
The starter relay is on top of the starter.
someone help me the car has a new battery and starter it wont turn over its not getting any power to the starter. we have changed the wire now to.
The 1992 Ford Taurus starter solenoid is bolted onto the side of the starter itself. The starter is at the rear of the engine at the bell housing.
Ijust paid 289.00 to have a new starter put on my 2003 Taurus.
You may have a loose or corroded ground connection. Not just the battery ground but the engine to chassis ground. You may also have a bad battery cable. If you see swelling on any part of the cable, replace it. Make sure the connections are clean and tight. Did you replace the starter solenoid with the starter, or is it a separate item? If the solenoid is separate from the starter, it is probably bad. It is unlikely that the ignition switch is bad, but possible.
