taillights or brake lights?
it is common on many vehicles for the brake light switch (connected directly to the brake pedal) to stick over time. try gently pulling back on the brake pedal with your toe and see if the lights go off.
if it is the actual taillights then i would look for a short in the wiring, possibly near the taillights themselves or right at the light switch in the cab.
It could be two things your switch for the lights is still turned on or your lights are on a timer and shut off after a twenty second or so delay.
have you tried turning the ouside dial on headlight switch that dims the gages bright or dull had a similar problem with 98 corvette no dash lights or hvac or running lights turned out to be multi function switch (headlights turnsignals)
Absolutely - Whatever color was there with lights or daylight is also there during darkness. You just can't see it anymore.
Yes. When i was charging it, I turned off my Xbox and the lights still indicated it was charging.
The brake light switch is stuck or out of adjustment. If it is a mechanical switch it is located somewhere on the brake pedal swing arm. If it is a pressure switch it is located near the Master Cylinder.
The most likely answer is that the parking light switch on top of the steering column is turned on. --Ken The parking light switch is turned off,the engine is turned off, they are still flashing
You probably turned them on by accident. They are controlled with the same pull switch that turns on the headlights. By twisting the switch to the far left it will click and the dome lights will turn on, by twisting it to the right it will turn off the interior lights and will then dim the dashboard lights.
The only time this has happened to me was when i was in a turret in hoth everything turned gray when i zoomed in. i zommed out and everything was back to normal but once and awile it still happens but i have no idea why. Problem may be in the steering column (turn signal stalk)
The rear lights of your car will still on even if your car was off because the switch was turned on and it will still remain on until the battery's out. Another possibility, if the headlight switch is off and the ignition switch is off, the brake light switch may be out of adjustment or broken and what you're seeing is the brake lights on.
Then the brake lights are out but the middle one still lights up. (:
my Oldsmobile alero did the same thing. It turned out to be as simple as a blown bulb in my tail light.
