there is one or two speed sensors on side of transmission to tell it when to shift. They are magnetic. When they get covered in metal shavings, they quit functioning. Pull them out, wipe off the metal shavings with a soft lint-free rag, and re-install them. This may fix your problem. It worked for me, when mine was stuck in first gear....... Good Luck :)
change your transmission fluid and transmission filter if the problem persists then your transmission is most likely no good.
Your synchro is going bad.
Yep, then shift from second to third gear.

If stick shift jumps outta second gear is it okay to drive the car?
Concole
Cable too slack.
Probably the shift linkage in that model.
No it will shift slow.
The shift link cable could be broken, or the 1st/2nd shift fork, inside the transmission, could be damaged.
You need to have the transmission computer checked for codes. It will default into second gear only when a malfunction is detected.
If would not be bad for a car engine to shift from third to second gear if you are traveling at 30mph.
