Check for a massive vacuum leak. There are probably cracks in the air line from the filter to engine.

On average, a Prizim with regular oil changes should get 200,000 to 250,000 miles so you are not even half done. Do you like the car, is everything working? Unless you replace it with a new car, something will go wrong with another used one. A rear main seal may cost a bit to replace but it is much less than another car. Unless there was another reason not to, I would fix the seal. Prizim's give good service and they all do the same thing, get you from one place to another. I don't need a new car to do that.

I had the same exact problem with my 98 prizm. It IS a fuse. Mine was located in the fusebox, behind the little storage compartment on the dash. It's a 15 amp mini fuse, marked as lighter. Hope this helps you!
