I would be concerned about the 4-wheel anti-lock (4WAL) braking system's "brain". It is called the electro-hydraulic control unit (EHCU). Take it to a mechanic you trust and ask them to pull codes. This is worth the money in most cases. If it is the EHCU it is going to be BIG BUCKS ($1000 - $1500 !!!) But if this is the problem and you don't fix it the brakes will just fail. The brakes wont fail Just the electronic side of the ABS The hydraulic system will work correctly with the ABS light on. If the light is on the ABS is in fault mode and is powered off, not working at all. No trouble! If the light is off it means the system is trying to work and may pulse the ABS pump

Do you have to replace senor when doing your discs and pads?

I am going to presume that you mean the sensor. Well, there are wear sensors that are always replaced when replacing brake pads. Now, ABS sensors usually do not requre replacement unless they go bad.

Can you wire two oxygen sensors to the same wires to get rid of my check engine light?

NO, you cannot do this, this will compound your problem and eventually damage the engine and/or catalytic converter to the point that they/it must be replaced, all three failures are very expensive repairs. The faulty O2 sensor must be identified and replaced. There are 4 set-ups: Single sensor; Dual "upstream" <both sensors are pre-cat>; Dual upstream/downstream <one sensor is pre-cat, one sensor is post-cat> and Quad sensor <two sensors are pre-cat, two sensors are post-cat>. The upstream controls the fuel mixture and the downstream monitors the catalytic converter. BANK 1 is always the number 1 spark plug side and SENSOR 1 is always upstream. Once the fault is corrected the ECM must be cleared with a scanner to shut off the light.

Will all faulty o2 sensors show a code?

No, not always.

Is a sensor a input output?

It is an input, sensors are always inputs.

Does a Suzuki XL-7 auto 2.7 liter have 1 or 2 oxygen sensors and if 2 should they both be replaced when 1 goes bad?

If your XL-7 is a V6, then it may very well have two o2 sensors, in the event that it does it will always be worht it to replace both of these, that way it makes for less headaches down the road.

What would cause the backup sensors to stop working on a Ford Windstar - Freestar?

Answer back up sensorsIt was just a few months after I bought my 99 Windstar that I had problems. It always seem to happen after it had rained and when I got to the dealer the problem went away. After numerous trips they seemed to finally resolve the problem.I was told that they used some kind of marine sealant on the sensors. It would appear that when it rained or after I washed the van the sensors would short out. That seemed to work for about 2 years now the problem has returned. The sensors seem to work after a few days of no rain. I think the sealant has broken down.

1993 Voyager won't go over 40MPH replace transmission or could it be another problem?

Here is a list of things that might causing the problem or adding to it. You can go to to your local automotive parts store and see if they have a manual for your vehicle. Haynes is a good one to look for that gives you a great breakdown of your car and parts it contains step by step repair and/or replacements of parts etc.. But it doesn't exclude the fact you might have to go to a mechanic shop for proper testing and checking of your vehicle. Fuel, O2, sensors may need to be replaced. Hoping not but possible: Fuel pump needing to be replaced (Can be expensive since it will usually require your fuel tank to be removed) Fuel Filter needing to be replaced/cleaned. Generally speaking: If your car isn't getting proper pressure in its fuel line, that can be indictive of a faulty fuel pump. But usually your car won't start if it is the fuel pump. I would recommend first having your sensors checked. Air filter dirty If you have an Auto Zone or similar store in your area have them run a diagnostic check for your car sensors. Usually but not always that can help pinpoint the exact problem. I wish you luck! Cheryl
