the problem will be one or more coils and plugs needs replacing
My 88 had a similar problem, replaced all the ignition system, plugs, coil, leads distributor cap & rotor. Then fuel filter, found a problem in the return fuel regulator and replaced it, problem starten again after 6 months and sourced the problem to the fuel pump. There was not enough fuel coming through on startuo and accelleration and used to backfire as well. Aussie Bill

Found problem, intermittent short circuit problem in turn signal switch, replaced switch, problem went away.
A problem with emissions can be correctly cured if the problem is addressed properly. If there is an exhaust leak it must be found the patched up. Same with a faulty sensor, if it needs to be replaced than replace the unit.
The phrase would be "misses being there" (wherever) because their is a plural possessive pronoun, the possessive form of they.Examples:The boys didn't go there.I found their caps on the hatrack.

I had a similar problem with my 1994 B4000. I took it to the dealership where they ran a diagnostic but found nothing wrong. After many inquiries, I replaced the mass air flow sensor and this solved the problem.
