1997 Chevy venture and recently it started making a loud screaching noise and a grinding noise Friend A said it's the idler pully friend b said it's probaly the tensioner. Who's right?

First remove the belt. Then, spin each pulley by hand. If the pulley does not feel smooth as it spins or if it makes any noise or if it feels a bit wobbly, replace that pulley.
