need to have your idle checked, mine did the same thing, and adjusted the idle up and it stopped the problem, the only thing is you need a tack meter don't use the dash gauge, it may not be true
Could be EGR valve sticking open or dirty at an idling condition or hesitates when accelerating.

Sounds like a torque converter lock up solenoid.
It could be a vacuum leak
It's on the verge of vapor lock.
It is a safety feature. You must pull in the left brake lever fully to engage reverse, if you try to put it into reverse without doing so, the engine will kill.
Replace the Idle Air Control Valve only about $50. This would cause funny idling and stalling out.
If the vehicle all the sudden just dies (stalls out) or sputters -R Diesel

Borrow, rent or buy a code scanner to figure out what the computer has detected.
A car might stall when shifting from park to reverse if the idle is set too low. It is also possible that the engine stalls because it is not fully warmed up before shifting from park to reverse.
