i have a 96 and they are -25/speedometer/GEM system -29/audio system. I printed out a copy of the fuse panel from autozone.com

I believe this to be accurate, 1998 they went back to the 2.5i4, 1997 had the 2.2l 4 cyl. I don't know about the 6cyl.

The fuse panel and power distribution box , lists and diagrams are not in the usual roadside emergencies section. For the 1996 Ranger , Ford has the diagrams in the servicing your Ranger section - pages 308 to 315 of the owner's manual (also viewable on-line at www.motorcraftservice.com - Helpfull)
