that's not good at all! it sounds like your transmission is starting to go. when the engine is cool the Transmission Fluid is thicker and is settled. when it warms up it is thinner making it easier to shift it. the best thing you can do is take it to a shop and ask them to do a transmission flush. it'll by you a little more time and it is worth it! shouldn't be anymore than $150. just ask for a quote up front. other than replacing the whole transmission, that is really your only option. and It'll give you a better idea of whats going on. good luck!
It will bolt up, but it will not shift. 1997 is electric, 1994 is hydraulic
No ( motorcraft . com shows the 1995 Grand Marquis transmission as an AOD - E and the 1997 Grand Marquis transmission as a 4R70W and different part numbers )
what do I need to change the 1997 Plymouth voyager transmission oil
I would guess that is for the "sport" mode. That is correct. If pushed it will hold what ever gear you are in to hold until you shift to another higher gear. It won't allow the transmission to shift.

in the transmission you have to drop the pan to see them.
The shift solenoid on a 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse is on the back of the valve body. Removing the transmission pan is required to reach the solenoid.
If your 1997 Chevy diesel will not shift into overdrive, you might have an issue with a transmission sensor. Some of these vehicles have several sensors that must engage in order to shift.
on the transmission
It is on the front of the transmission, below the cooler hoses.
