1998 Nissan maxima throttle position sensor. When starting to drive the gas pedal gets stuck and have to apply pressure before it clicks to move. Is the TPS sensor the cause of it?

Probably not. Look inside the throttle body and see if there is a dirty buildup right where the butterfly valve rests when closed. Use throttle body cleaner to remove the buildup and it should work smoothly again.
