my girlfriends car is doing the same. it is known ot be the crankshaft sensor. your have two of them one behind the balancer and one under the exhuast manafold on the oxygen sensor side. most likely its the one under the balancer. sometimes its bolth
It's probably a broken engine mount. I have an 04 Alero and mine was broken. Jerking stopped when I replaced it.
brake light on when driving oldsmobile alero
Oldsmobile stopped making Alero in 2004 and GM stopped making Oldsmobile in 2004, so some mistake here?
you could have a pluged catilitic converter or a pluged fuel filter
The Alero is made by Oldsmobile not Chrysler. My first suspicion would be a failed fuel pump or clogged fuel filter.
if both stopped working at the exact same time it is most likely a fuse... consult your owners manual for fuse location and specification
Check timing/timing belt
I drive a '99 Alero and have this noise that sounds like a jet engine. I was told it was most likely my wheel bearings and that Aleros are prone to this problem. My uncle has replaced 9 sets on his Alero in 3 years.
There is a repair kit available to repair the grid. A test light will find the break in the grid.
Replace the fuel filter and have the ignition module checked.
Change the fuel filter first.
Might be the fuel filter. My car stopped several times while I was driving.......dimmed lights and all. Changed the fuel filter and it's been good since.
