1999 Frontera Sport RS with a faulty speedo works once tapped gengally clocks have been removed all connections are ok yet it still goes faulty. please advise. anspencertesco.net?

Hi I have the same problem with 1999 RS sport (120,000miles) pressing the odometer reset restores power to the gauges - they then randomly respond and fail, I believe this is a known problem and requires a new dial dash approx £266 and resets milage to 0.
