1999 T plate vauxhall vectra keeps cutting out after 3 miles goes onto emergency engine management runs okay until the car stops What could be the problem i have changed the camshaft sensor?

cam position censor breacking down when hot (ecotec engine)

Do you have any trouble codes?

These are prone to EGR valve, Air mass meter and crank pos sensor problems.

It should last the life of the engine and is normally replaced when the engine is overhauled.

With a tape measure check the length of the camshaft by either checking the new camshaft or measuring along the top of the engine, now take that length and extend it out from the front of the engine to see if you have a straight shot out the front of the block to remove the camshaft, by default the fan, radiator and ac condenser will need to removed for the actual removal of the camshaft.

The camshaft position sensor on a Mazda Miata is changed by disconnecting the wiring harness and unscrewing the sensor using a wrench. The threads can then be cleaned and a new sensor torqued into place.
