Wow, um, just wow.
Anyway, did the engine crank over before replacing the computer?
If so, during the process of replacing the computer did you create a problem with anti-theft or did you forget to reconnect the battery?
My clio wouldn't spark the other day. Turned out to be the crankshaft sensor. Apparently a common fault on clios.
I had this problem on my disco 1. Turned out to be the alternator, which was replaced and the problem was fixed.
In older cars that used a distributor, the distributor shaft was connected to the camshaft. The camshaft was connected to the crankshaft. So as they all turned, the spark would fire in direct correlation to the crankshaft. Once they eliminated the distributor, the computer needed a way to determine when to fire the spark. So they place a sensor near the end of the crankshaft and it reports the crankshaft position to the computer. So the computer can know when to fire the spark for each cylinder.
The blower resistor is internally shorted to power and needs to be replaced.
You can't adjust the timing on a 95 Escort. It has an EDIS (Electronic Distributorless Ignition System). Heres how it works. There is a gear behind the crankshaft pulley with some teeth on it. At one place on the gear there is a missing tooth. That tooth when It goes by the CKP (Crankshaft Position Sensor) creates a magnetic impulse which is turned into an electrical impulse by the CKP. The CKP sends a message to the computer about where the timing is. The computer takes in information from other sensors and adjusts the timing accordingly.
I'm still having this problem I can now tell you waht it is not. It is not the computer or the distributor or the ignition replaced the temp coolant sensor also. Mechanic had this vehicle for over a month, it has now become a yard ornament.
I turned on the ignition in my car. "Houston, we have ignition!"
the radiator was replaced and the fluids are still evaporating or leaking out somehow. what other options could be wrong with the car overheating?
Different crankshaft.
That the outlet only has power when the ignition is turned on.That the outlet only has power when the ignition is turned on.
day time running module on drivers fender back by the brake booster needs to be replaced
i had the same problem, replaced everything and it turned out to be the distributor, they go bad on these vehicles.
