I hate to ask , but did you check the gauge panel dimmer switch ( just to the right of your headlight switch on your dash ) to see if it has been rotated all the way down ?

Possibly could be the dimmer portion of the headlight switch. Wiggle the heck out of it with the headlights on and see if you can get them to come on.
Remove the dash and remove the instrument cluster, the lights are in the back of the cluster.
