If U have O'riellys Auto parts in your area U can go there and give them your License or a credit card and "borrow" their scan tool, I did it while being in their parking lot. My Escort threw the VCT code when it was acting the same way as yours. I am in the process of changing timing belt and vct! Hopefully works, good lick
Get a Bigger Radiator
look at your vaccum hoses 4 leaks.
It may not be intaking enough water to fully make it work. Check your intake hose, it may be plugged.
A defective vacuum line can cause a whistling sound when the vehicle is accelerating. A loose belt can also create a high pitched whistle sound.
look to see if your intake manifold is gummed up with residue
Check the upper and lower intake gaskets. They are known to leak on the V6 engine. I would recomend replacing them as they are only about $15 or so for the parts.
You may have a major vacuum leak on the intake somewhere.
probably airleak in intake host
if it sounds like a high pitched whining then it may just be your cool air intake
Sorry no, the intake manifold would have to be changed
Look for leaking antifreeze/coolant. Usually you can see it leaking around the top of the engine. Also check your oil, if it looks milky it has been mixed with coolant and you intake manifold gasket is leaking. That being said, it is possible to have a leaking intake gasket with no sign of leaking antifreeze. Most intake manifold issues/leaks are coupled with poor engine performance and even sputtering and lack of power.
First thing Is There Is No Water In An Altenater. ... But it Does sound Like the Heater Hose Is leaking and it is located Under The Intake Manifold on the 4.6 Engine And It is running Down Front Of moptor The Only Way to Repair This Is to Remove The Intake Manifold.....:)
