Don't bother replacing it. I have a 2000 Xterra V6 with 162,000 miles. The knock sensor has been bad for at least half those miles. Other than a code P0325 always stored in the ECM, it doesn't seem to impact performance or mileage. The P0325 error code doesn't even turn on the "check engine" light. Also, replacing the sensor is big job since so much has to be removed just to get to it (for the V6, it's attached to the engine block under the plenum and lower intake manifold). For those with the later years supercharged Xterra's, I would definitely change it if it were bad but not for the 2000 models.
I agree my supercharged 01 frontier is getting no better than 11mpg with the sensor out they charge a very steep price to get it fixed between 400$ and 500. I just changed a knock sensor on the 2000 xterra 3.3 v6 with 257000 miles on it. I put it all back together and it still read that the sensor was bad. The next morning after the car had sat I drove it and really got on it and now it runs like a charm. This was the problem i did not drain the radiator when i removed the lower intake manifold water got into the valve tubes. I dryed them out but some must of got in there,. so be carful when changing the knock sensor "drain the radiator or it will suck."
The check engine light is flashing due to a problem with the emission system. I flashing check engine light usually indicates a random engine misfire.
2004 Nissan sentra with a 1.8L engine has a timing chain and you do not replace it.
Yes, those are the same engines, should be no problem
no u do not
A flashing check engine light is due to a condition that is causing catalytic converter damage. Normal cause is a severe misfireA flashing check engine light is due to a condition that is causing catalytic converter damage. Normal cause is a severe misfire
Remove engine, disassemble, replace piston, re-assemble engine and install. Good times!
